August 2026: Ask VIVA for your analytics in Claude, and attach terms straight to a property

VIVA MCP connects your organisation's analytics to Claude so you can ask for reports in plain language, terms and conditions documents can now be attached directly to a property, the assistant can turn a document shared in chat into an enquiry, and every analytics figure now states the period it covers.

A round-up of everything we shipped across August 2026 — a new way to reach your analytics through Claude, terms and conditions you can manage yourself, a more capable VIVA AI Assistant, more reliable message delivery in the Chat Centre, and a clearer search experience on the Mini Program.

VIVA MCP — Your analytics in Claude

Ask for your reports in plain language. VIVA MCP connects your organisation’s analytics to Claude, so you can ask for what you want in your own words. Ask something like “show my follower trend” and you get the answer — no looking up a Mini Program or property ID first. If your organisation has more than one, it will simply ask which you mean.

Every analytics reply states the period it covers. Answers name the date range they were built from, so a figure that looks surprising can be checked at a glance instead of being mistaken for bad data.

More accurate follower and traffic figures. Mini Program analytics were counting some days twice, which inflated totals. Figures are now correct and match the underlying data exactly.

Monthly reports match your dashboard. Top traffic sources stay inside the month being reported, enquiry counts no longer include enquiries that were deleted, and the monthly “total views” figure now matches the Admin Portal exactly.

Mini Program page views are available on request. You can now ask for the page-view figure shown on your dashboard — previously it could only be read from the dashboard itself.

Worth knowing: the dashboard’s “Page Views” card counts WeChat Mini Program traffic, while the monthly report’s “total views” counts website traffic. They are different figures for different products, and both are correct.

VIVA MCP is read-only and scoped to your organisation. Talk to your VIVA contact to switch it on, and see mcp.vivacityapp.com for setup instructions.

AI Assistant

Turn a shared document into an enquiry. When a document is shared in a conversation, the assistant can now read the key details out of it and save them straight into an enquiry — no manual re-typing.

More accurate answers to common questions. The assistant follows tighter rules when answering frequently asked questions, so students get replies that stick closely to your published information instead of drifting off-topic.

Booking details captured every time. When a student is guided through an enquiry by the assistant, the type of booking they’re after is now recorded on the enquiry, so your team sees the full picture without having to ask again.

Broader assistant capabilities. The assistant’s set of skills has been extended, so it can handle a wider range of questions and follow-up actions in a single conversation.

More reliable conversation summaries. Conversation summaries now have a backup route if the first attempt doesn’t complete, so a summary arrives even when things are busy.

AI-generated answers are clearly marked. Answers produced by AI on the support site now carry a clear “AI-generated” label that stays with the text when copied, and is announced to screen readers.

A set of fixes was also shipped across assistant answers and translated content this month. No action needed.

Admin Portal

Attach a terms and conditions document to a property. You can now upload a terms and conditions document against a property’s details in the portal. Once it’s attached, the terms checkbox on that property’s enquiry form links straight to the document, so students can read exactly what they’re agreeing to before they submit. Both the wording and the file are managed in one place, so updating your terms no longer needs a change request.

The new look continues to roll out. Refreshed headers, simplified report cards, and much better contrast in dark mode across chat, reports, onboarding and the release notes panel.

Redesigned QR code popup. The QR code popup has a new frosted-glass card design with a circular code, plus new options for background, layout, description, step-by-step instructions and a trust badge. It’s also now protected from the styling of the page it sits on, so it always looks right.

More dependable tables. Frozen columns, column widths, manual sorting and drag ordering, and child tables all behave correctly now, and your column layout is remembered between visits. Child tables are also enabled in Promotions › Add Property.

Calculated fields on property connectors save correctly again. Creating a formula-based field on a property connector was being rejected with a validation error even when the formula was perfectly valid. Formulas now save and reload reliably, including ones that use custom functions, and error messages name the actual problem instead of a single generic message.

Email templates can pull in application and form step details. Merge tags in email templates support application steps and form steps, so confirmation and follow-up emails can include exactly what the student submitted.

Reporting data is up to date again. Analytics and audience insight reports are refreshing on schedule after a data-refresh issue that had quietly stalled some updates. Missing days have been backfilled, so historical figures are complete.

Scheduled report setup no longer gets stuck. Reporting setup for an organisation now completes the first time instead of retrying indefinitely, which means new reporting connections come online without manual help.

More accurate property information. Property records now carry the provider’s name through to every connected system, and room facilities synced from partner systems no longer create duplicate groups each time they update.

Several fixes were also shipped across the Admin Portal this month — covering tables, forms, navigation, page loading, property details, enquiry forms, and property data syncing with improved handling of larger properties and longer-running syncs — along with eleven crash fixes covering enquiries, integrations, the image gallery and dashboard preferences. A brief interruption to menu features on 9 August has been resolved; if you still see an issue, signing out and back in will clear it. A number of behind-the-scenes reliability and security improvements were also shipped, including hardened service builds and reduced dependency risk. No action needed.

Chat Centre

Out-of-office replies now reach returning customers. Customers who have messaged you before and get in touch outside business hours now receive your automatic “we’re currently closed” reply. Previously the reply was created but never actually sent.

Agents can see when a message doesn’t get through. If a reply can’t be delivered — a send failure, or a contact missing routing details — agents now get a private note explaining what happened, instead of the message appearing as delivered.

Property suggestions always arrive as a tappable card. Occasionally a property recommendation was delivered as a line of raw text instead of a card students could tap. Two separate causes were tracked down and both are now fixed, so suggestions render as proper cards every time.

Refreshed header. The Chat Centre header has been redesigned as part of the platform’s new look, with improved readability in dark mode.

Worth knowing: if a conversation is already open, a customer simply opening the chat won’t trigger an auto-reply — they need to send a message.

Several fixes were also shipped across chat replies and message handling this month. No action needed.

Clearer results when there’s nothing to show. Searching on the Mini Program now shows a helpful message when there’s no search history yet, or when a search returns no matches, instead of an empty screen.

Easier to get back out of search. The search screens now have a proper navigation bar, so students can return to where they were without restarting.

A better layout on larger screens. Search and listing pages now centre themselves and use two or three columns on wide screens, instead of stretching content across the full width.

Several fixes were also shipped across search and browsing on the Mini Program this month — including image loading, menu pages, map links opening the right navigation app, and currency display. No action needed.
